Good News Lekki-Ikoyi Bridge Toll Collection Banned By Court

It must be a happy day for motorist that ply through the Lekki-Ikoyi bridge as a federal high court bans the toll collection.

A Federal High Court, Lagos has barred the Lagos State Government from collection of tolls from users of the Lekki-Ikoyi Suspension Bridge.

Justice Saliu Saidu, on Thursday declared that  the bridge was built by public funds therefore imposition of tolls on motorists using it was illegal.

The court held that since it was public funds that was used for building the bridge there was no basis for the public-private partnership arrangement which was adduced as the justification for toll collection on the bridge.

Adegboruwa who instituted the suit had urged the court to determine whether the imposition of tolls on the users of the bridge and residents of Lekki Scheme 1, Ikoyi, Ajah, Ibeju-Lekki and Epe communities, did not amount to a violation of their rights.

What do you make of this development, do you think the removal of the toll will lead more people to use the bridge thereby leading to increased traffic congestion in that area or is this a totally welcome development?

Kick The Ball Michael Toft- Street Soccer Legend Tours Nigeria In Search Of Fresh Talent

Discover Street football from a whole new perspective.

Street Soccer Legend Michael Toft, recently came into Nigeria in search of street Soccer Talent. The Danish street soccer player is on a quest to discover young talents in Nigeria, who would make a valuable addition to the ranks of Professional street soccer players worldwide.

The art seemed quite fascinating, as Michael showed street soccer from a different perspective by juggling the ball and performing dribbles faster than the eye could follow. He explained how street soccer combined both the entertaining, and the technical part of football.

Taking a look at the average Street soccer player in Nigeria,  it is quite obvious that great promise abounds among them. We can only hope that the entry of icons like Michael Toft, would signal a new beginning for the sport in the country.

Fashion Forward Kim Kardashian Can't Get Enough Of Sheer!

Like her, Love her, Hate her, Kim K is putting everything out there.

Kim Kardashian Can't do without sheer - loath or love?

Kim Kardashian rocks see through at DASH Launch in Miami.

She's on Vogue now so she can wear anything and it will be defined as fashion.

Kim Kardashian has got those killer curves and she has just the perfect dresses to wear so her fans could see that it's for real. The famous reality TV star has been spotted more in sheer lately than we've seen Justin Bieber smoke weed. But do we love or hate it?

The 34 year old mother of one recently donned a metallic Rachel Roy see-through gown as she stepped out for a chat on Late Night with Seth Meyer this week and later have dinner with her fiancé Kanye West and Vogue's editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.

This is not the first time the E! star is letting the world see her trimmed post baby figure. She recently dazzled in a metal chain mail outfit at the recent launch of their DASH Collection in Miami Florida.

She was also seen in a Veronique Leroy white mess bodysuit see-through attire while attending the Mario Testino 'Alta Moda' [high fashion] exhibition in New York last November.

Question on everyone's mind is: Could Kim be sending a message to all those who dissed her during and post pregnancy or she just can't get enough of sheer?

Send us your thoughts.

Ray J Compares A Lady To An Ape On Instagram

Did he go out of line here?

Ray J has just pissed off an American citizen so bad by comparing her to an ape on Instagram. The singer posted the picture above with the caption,

"I usually don't go this hard but ... This chick looks exactly like a character on Planet of the Apes."

Speaking angrily to gossip site TMZ last night, the lady Ray accused – known as Tina Chastang – admitted she was humiliated when he singled her out on his page with such hateful comment.

However she confessed she could probably take part of the blame for insulting the singer on the social network site too. She revealed she had posted inflammatory comments on his Instagram like,

"Ray J you are irrelevant. Why don't you stop worrying about Kim Kardashian? Why don't you talk about you being gay."

But she insists his response was rather off limits.

She also insists she just one of the millions who trash talk Ray J on a daily bases and now wants an apology - really?

Well according to TMZ, sources have confirmed that Tina is an Instagram bully who makes very negative comments on everything Ray J posts for months now. They say the singer has swallowed just enough insults from her and had to do what he did.

So, we have to ask: who is right – Ray J or Tina Chastang?

F1 to honour missing plane passengers

Formula 1 will pay tribute to the passengers on missing flight MH370 at Sunday's Malaysian Grand Prix.

The plane, travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, disappeared on 8 March and is thought to have crashed with the loss of all 239 people on board.

Drivers are expected to carry messages on cars and helmets and there will be a minute's silence before the race.

"It's devastating to hear about it," said Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton. "All you can do is pray."

Fellow Briton and McLaren driver Jenson Button added: "It's good that the whole of the paddock are running tributes.

"It's devastating. I really feel for all the families. We will do all we can. It'll be difficult this weekend for all the Malaysian people."

Several countries are involved in the ongoing search for the Malaysia Airlines plane that vanished from air traffic controllers' screens over the South China Sea.

On Monday, the Malaysian prime minster Najib Razak announced that "beyond reasonable doubt" the aircraft crashed in the southern Indian Ocean with no survivors.

No debris has been recovered.

Nico Rosberg, who won the season's opening race in Australia, said: "I've experienced first hand how everybody in Malaysia is thinking of families and friends.

"There are billboards and signs here with people who have put stickers up with messages on them."

Race organisers have toned down events around the weekend, with the cancellation of a concert featuring American singer Christina Aguilera and Rain.

More than 84,000 spectators attended the 120,000-capacity Sepang circuit in 2013, but the venue might only be a third full for this year's race.

Razlan Razali, CEO of the Sepang circuit, said: "We remind ourselves that this is a huge international event, regardless of our state of mourning.
"The world will be on us to see how fragile or how strong [we are]. So we have a huge responsibility to put on a good show."

Dwayne Johnson claims the Hercules mantle in the first trailer for the film

Dwayne. Johnson. Is. Hercules! He says so right there in the trailer. The actor formerly known as the Rock stars in Brett Ratner's Hercules, due in theaters later this summer. In preparation for the film, Paramount and MGM have released the first trailer giving us a hint at what to expect.

This version of Hercules is not to be confused with The Legend of Hercules starring Kellan Lutz (the X-Men and Twilight films), which was released in January 2014. Judging by that film's weak box office showing, that won't be an issue though. The 3-percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes probably won't help much either.

Johnson's Hercules also stars Rufus Sewell, Ian McShane, and John Hurt, and is based on the comics of the same name by Steve Moore, with art by Cris Bolsin. The story in the comics follows Hercules as he trains the Thracian army, and the film will borrow heavily from that. Originally, the film was known as Hercules: The Thracian Wars.

Hercules hits theaters on July 25, 2014.

Our first look at Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, and (maybe) Ultron in Avengers: Age of Ultron

A sizable cache of images for the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron has been released by the filmmakers, giving us our first look at Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in action, the return of Hawkeye, and what may be at least part of Ultron.

The most eye-catching piece of info to take from these set photos is what Scarlet Witch (played by Elizabeth Olsen) and Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) will look like in the film. Marvel recently aired a special that showed some of the concept art for the movie, including a peek at the two new characters' costumes, but these are the first images we've seen of the actors on set.

The photos also show Hawkeye in what looks like a familiar costume, as well as a few other images that reveal what appears to be a new, cold weather outfit for the archer. You also get a glimpse at part of the new Iron Man armor, but more significant are the images of what may be Ultron. It's difficult to tell, since the costume is incomplete and likely awaiting a massive amount of CGI. It could also be something else entirely.

We already know that the character of Vision will appear in the film (to be played by Paul Bettany), which suggests that there will be multiple robots and synthetic men in the movie. One of the set images shows four actors in motion capture suits, hinting that they will be replaced on screen by something that doesn't look human. There is always the chance that aliens return in the second film – either the Chitauri that invaded New York in The Avengers or some other race - but the far more likely answer is that the mocap suits will be replaced by robotic creations controlled by Ultron, as he does in the comics. If that is the case, the silver creature pictured may not be Ultron at all, but rather something created by the villain.

Or it might be a weird, half-complete Ultron and we're reading way too much into the set pics – but why not? That's half the fun.

We may not know exactly what it is we're seeing for a while, though San Diego Comic-Con is only a few months away. Marvel does seem to enjoy setting the Internet ablaze at that show, with major announcements and first looks at footage from upcoming films. With production underway now, and the Avengers: Age of Ultron due in theaters on May 1, 2015, expect some major reveals this year in San Diego.

For now though, check out the images of the three Avengers squaring off against… something. What do you think of the costumes? Let us know in the comments below.

Runtastic 5.0 does everything but run for you

We love running. For some people it's a monotonous and exhausting task, but there's always this sweet spot in the middle of a run where your breathing is perfect; your legs are moving effortlessly; and the world is melting away as you carry on. Getting to that sweet spot is a challenge, especially during the winter where the only real option for stretching one's legs is on a treadmill. But winter is slowly receding and spring is coming. (It is, believe us.) Cold or not, we've spent the last week taking the popular fitness tracker Runtastic, which launches version 5.0 today, out for test run after test run.

The fitness app section of the various app marketplaces are getting crowded, but the Runtastic brand is a familiar one, currently celebrating 70 million downloads. Its flagship app is Runtastic Pro, which records just about everything imaginable about your run. It takes down all relevant information, from your distance traveled and run speed to your heart rate (if you have a connected monitor) and mood. A lot more happens to your body over the course of a run than your feet repetitively hitting the pavement, and Runtastic records it all.

The latest version even includes hydration information for after the run and provided us with suggestions on how to recover based on activity details, personal stats, and local weather. Sometimes it seemed like its suggested amount of water, provided in milliliters, seemed high, but we're not the experts here. Runtastic 5.0 is like strapping on a trainer and coach, just far more practical and considerably less heavy.

Previous users of Runtastic will notice a new interface, which is essentially unified over iPhone/iPad and Android with slight visual tweaks to fit the given platform. Drawer navigation now rules the day for Runtastic, which makes navigating the app and its ever-increasing amount of features much easier. One thing that bugged us about this new design for Android, though, was the menu button to get to the drawer is a bit small. When running, our fingers aren't exactly precise and it took a few presses after summoning all our coordination to get into the options drawer.

The main screen has changed visually as well. It's now a more customizable and clear menu. Depending on what you want to focus on during your run – be it duration, pace, distance, or heart rate – you can pull that information to the forefront of the menu. Combined with the ability to set specific goals and track progress during the run, this was a great feature to help us reach our running goals. The pace map has also changed, tracing peaks in speed or heart rate in color across a map. This should be handy for interval trainers.

For Android users, some new features have been added. Training sessions can be purchased in-app to teach users how to reach running goals, like weight loss or completing a marathon. The prices for these sessions seem a little high to us – between $15-$20 without a gold membership – especially for the Pro version of the app which users already pay for on Google Play. That seems to be the catch with most additional features within Runtastic, though. Story running, which crafts a narrative around your run, cost $1 a piece and seem like one time use as far as entertainment value goes.

Runtastic has moved its Music Player from Pro to the free version of the app, though, and Android users can use Google Play Music or other streaming services to get their tunes. We'd love to see Audible or something similar added to this list, because Runtastic didn't play nice when we tried running it at the same time as our audiobook player. Live tracking and cheering, which broadcasts your run and allows others to cheer you on via Runtastic, has also moved to the free version.

Runtastic is still one of the best options for tracking your runs – or really any activity, since it works with bike rides, walks, hikes, etc. – and version 5.0 only solidifies its lead over other apps. There's a wealth of information gathered and stored within the app about your activities, some of which we're not even sure what to do with, but we're glad it's there in case we ever figure it out. We'd like to see Runtastic loosen up on some of its pricing, and moving some features to the free version is a good step. But for those who don't need the add-ons and can get use out of what's there, Runtastic 5.0 is a fitness favorite.

(Runtastic 5.0 is available for iOS and Android. The Pro version is also available for iOS and Android and costs $5.)

We called shotgun in the Batmobile for a preview of Batman: Arkham Knight

If the Gotham City of the Arkham games were a real place, insurance premiums alone would be crippling. After multiple, devastating attacks on Batman's city that threatened thousands and caused multiple evacuations, Gotham must be an awful, awful place to live. It's only going to get worse when we return once more in Batman: Arkham Knight. But Gotham's plight is our gain.

We had the chance to check out Batman: Arkham Knight at GDC 2014, and developers from Rocksteady were on hand to play us through a section. By their own words, this is the end of their Arkham trilogy. Others might take up the mantle just as Warner Bros. Games Montreal did with Batman: Arkham Origins, but this will be Rocksteady's final outing with the Caped Crusader.

Even if Arkham Knight is a last for Rocksteady, it's the first of the series to appear on next-gen consoles. It's also the first to feature a controllable Batmobile, which changes the way you approach Gotham City, and introduces a completely original villain for Batman to face off with. If this really is Rocksteady's last Arkham game, it's looking like they will go out on a high note.

Story

American Gothic. Batman: Arkham Knight takes place one year after the events of Arkham City, which left a power vacuum in Gotham's underworld. Batman is at the height of his abilities when Scarecrow returns to Gotham to threaten the citizens with a potentially devastating chemical attack. The average Gothamite is probably used to fleeing in terror at this point, which leaves the city overrun by thugs and psychos.

At this point in their relationship, Batman and Commissioner Gordon are partners, and the two work together to stop Scarecrow's threat. Unbeknownst to the Commish, Batman is also helped along by his daughter Barbara Gordon, AKA Oracle. This Oracle is modeled off of the character prior to the recent DC reboot. She lives and works out of the Gotham Clocktower and deals in information, and like her earlier comic source, she is confined to a wheelchair. Barbara Gordon has appeared in the games before, but this is the first time we've actually seen, and not just heard her. In a knowing nod to longtime Batman fans, in order to access her lair you need to hit a switch hidden inside a bust of William Shakespeare (just like Adam West used to). Rocksteady knows its Batman.

Knightfall. While the games are, of course, based on the DC Comics, Arkham Knight features one completely original character known as, well, the Arkham Knight. In the demo we were shown, Batman investigates a location rumored to be used by Scarecrow. Shortly after arriving, he is attacked by the mysterious, new enemy. The demo ended with the Knight standing above a stunned Batman with a gun pointed at him, claiming "this ends tonight."

There is a much bigger story beyond just the Scarecrow's threat, and it all seems to center on this new character. When we pressed the devs on whether or not the person inside the Knight costume was someone we might know from either DC or the previous game, they were mum. That might be significant or a bit of misdirection. In either case, let the speculation begin!

Gameplay

Batman Returns. The core mechanics of the Arkham franchise return, and while there are some new tricks, the gameplay should be instantly familiar to fans. You once again return to the open world of Gotham, where gliding and grappling are the most common means of transportation. However, now you can use your gadgets while gliding, which opens up several new possibilities. You can now fire off ziplines to land on, or throw batarangs when descending on enemies. It's something we'll have to experiment with, but it adds a new level of depth to traversing Gotham.

The combat is also mostly the same, and once again relies on combos and counters. You now have the ability to throw enemies though, and you can also take their weapons and use them to a limited degree. It expands the combat without changing what has become one of the identifying features of the series.

Introducing the Batmobile. Without question, the most notable change between Arkham Knight and the previous games is the introduction of the Batmobile. In terms of looks, Rocksteady's Batmobile is a cross between Tim Burton's and Christopher Nolan's from their respective films. It's one part hot rod, one part tank. It's also bulletproof and apparently indestructible (at least from what we saw in the demo), and it can easily take out other cars, the occasional bit of debris, and specific walls.

It is also fast, and can be called at any time. When summoned, the Batmobile initiates autopilot and comes to you. Batman can also launch himself out of the vehicle like a catapult, switch to the traditional glide and grapple methods, then meet the Batmobile, which can track you from the ground when you choose for it to do so.

There are complete sections of the game dedicated to the Batmobile, including car chases that use the Batmobile's bevy of gadgets (including rockets), and side missions like Riddler's puzzle races, which require you to drive a course under a time limit while remotely operating doors in front of you in the proper sequence. We only saw a small section, but the Batmobile seems to play a major role in the game.

Presentation

Gotham unbound. The new Gotham is big – very big. According to Rocksteady, the game is 20 times larger than that of Arkham Asylum in terms of real estate. Gotham is also broken up into districts, with each district featuring its own look and feel. The next-gen graphics make the city look amazing, as rain and lightning help to highlight the use of color and light throughout the city. As Batman you operate at night, but that doesn't mean Gotham is dark. Far from it.

The Dark Knight Returns. Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman in dozens of animated and video game properties including Rocksteady's previous Arkham games, returns to the role. Further announcements regarding the cast will be made in the next few months.

Conclusion

By introducing its own, unique character into the Batman universe, Rocksteady may be risking the alienation of fans by stepping away from the established DC universe. We'll still have several familiar faces to punch, including Two Face, Penguin, Harley Quinn, and more, but the main villain – as evidenced by the title of the game – is a creation of Rocksteady. The developer has earned the right to take that risk though, and so far there's no reason to think it won't pay off big.

In the future, simply holding your phone may charge it up

Apparently, the Matrix was right. In the future, we all become batteries. The first step to our eventual demise is a research study conducted by Peking University in Beijing, which found that the human body can be used as an electrode to charge a mobile phone.

"At present, the generator is more suitable for low-power devices," said research co-author Haixia Zhang in an interview with Phys.org. "In future plans, we hope it can be used as a back-up power source for portable electronics."

The research team substituted a grounded electrode (an electrode is basically something that conducts electricity) with a "body contact electrode." The body contact electrode becomes active when the palm or the fingers come into contact with the back side or border of a phone covered with STEG (Single Friction Surface Triboelectric Generator). While the term triboelectric may sound intimidating, it really just means that an electric charge can be produced when materials are rubbed against each other. Static electricity is an example of the triboelectric effect.

Researchers found that electrons were exchanged between the skin and the STEG material when subjects patted the phone with a palm or tapped it with a finger. They also recorded an increase in the output current with the body contact electrode compared to the grounded electrode.

The researchers are still grappling with obstacles for designing a generator that harvests electricity more efficiently. However, they see more applications in STEG devices, such as implanted devices and sensors.

Teenager’s obsession with the perfect selfie nearly drives him to suicide

Recently the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) released a study that found an increase in people requesting facial reconstruction in order to be "more self-aware of looks in social media," thanks in part to the selfie phenomenon. Many of these people in the study are young and active on social media networks, and perceived bad selfie is causing them to make drastic changes in order to look better in self-shot portraits. You could dismiss this as a fad, but the obsession with selfies could take some down a dangerous path. The Daily Mirror reports that one British 19-year-old nearly killed himself because he couldn't take the perfect selfie.

One of the many "unhappy" selfies that Danny Bowman took of himself.
The young man, Danny Bowman, reportedly was spending 10 hours a day snapping more than 200 self-portraits with his iPhone. The obsession started when he was 15, and it got so bad that he was sneaking out of class, dropped out of school, lost 28 pounds, and overdosed in his home. His parents tried to intervene, which only made him angry. Negative Facebook comments toward his selfies and a desire to look like his idol, Leonardo Di Caprio, didn't help his cause.

"I was constantly in search of taking the perfect selfie and when I realized I couldn't I wanted to die," Bowman told the Daily Mirror. "I lost my friends, my education, my health, and almost my life."

While the Daily Mirror describes Bowman as Britain's first selfie addict, Bowman also suffers from body dysmorphic disorder, or BDD, a very real condition that is believed to be the cause for Bowman's selfie addiction. To us, he looks perfectly normal, but he sees himself completely differently. The problems really started when he was cast to become a model in 2011, leading him to obsess over his looks via technology.

For most of us, the selfie phenomenon is tongue-in-cheek, but for some it could become a self-destructive form of narcissism, experts warn, potentially leading to harm. Selfies alone may not cause people to commit suicide, but an unhealthy obsession with them could be a warning sign for some type of mental disorder.

Microsoft goes freemium with Office for iPad, requires subscription to create and edit docs

We've been waiting a number of years for Microsoft to release a version of Office for the iPad, but it has never been absolutely certain the project would see the light of day. However, today, at an event in San Francisco hosted by new CEO Satya Nadella, Microsoft has finally made it all official. Office for iPad is here, finally bringing Word, PowerPoint and Excel to Apple tablets everywhere.

Visit the iTunes App Store right now, and you'll find the three apps mentioned above, plus OneNote for iPad, all available separately for download. Each is free, but Microsoft has adopted a freemium style payment model for its suite of Office apps. The free versions are basic. They allow you to view and read your saved documents, all of which can be grabbed from the cloud using your OneDrive or SharePoint account. If you don't want to do that, you can just save your documents onto the iPad itself.

If you want to actually do things with your documents, you'll need to pay for an Office 365 Home subscription. Using an in-app purchase, this is going to set you back $100, which will be due again a year later. Once you've paid up, new documents can be created, and existing ones edited. If you don't want to pay without giving it all a try first, then Microsoft is providing a 30-day trial of Office 365. Handily, it's an all-encompassing trial, so you can see how Office for iPad performs when syncing with Office software on your other devices.

All the usual Office fun, on your iPad

How do all the familiar Office apps look on Apple's tablet? They look great. Microsoft's Julia White gave an extensive, rapid-fire demonstration of the app's abilities on stage, showing off the minimalist interface to good effect. Microsoft has made sure users coming from the desktop feel at home, incorporating the Ribbon layout, and a Home button to access standard features. In Word, you'll find text editing, images, and formatting options, while in Excel, there are filters, equations, and sums. In other words, the apps include everything you'd expect. The key difference is they have all been adapted for touch use.

Microsoft made a big deal about Office for iPad's integration with the cloud. Documents stored in OneDrive or SharePoint can be accessed, and alterations are saved as you work. It's possible to collaborate on documents with other people, through OneDrive, and more than one person can work on a single document at a time.

Keen to try them out? The apps are live in the U.S. App Store now, but are taking a while to spread out to other countries. The only requirement is your iPad must be running iOS 7, so if you haven't updated recently, you'll need to do so. It also shuts out owners of the original iPad. We're already using the Office suite on our iPads now, so look out for a review coming soon.

Health Overweight seen as the norm, says chief medical officer

The number of obese and overweight people has been rising in recent decades.

Being overweight is increasingly seen as the norm, England's chief medical officer says.

In her annual report on the state of health, Dame Sally Davies said this was concerning, pointing out many people did not recognise they had a problem.

Parents of overweight children were also failing to spot the signs too, she said.

Dame Sally blamed the way weight was being portrayed by the media and clothes industry.

"I have long been concerned that being underweight is often portrayed as the ideal weight, particularly in the fashion industry.

"Yet I am increasingly concerned that society may be normalising being overweight.

"Larger mannequins are being introduced into clothes shops and "size inflation" means that clothes with the same size label have become larger in recent decades.

"And news stories about weight often feature pictures of severely obese people, which are unrepresentative of the majority of overweight people."

Sugar tax

Dame Sally also reiterated her belief that a sugar tax may be necessary to combat obesity.

At the start of March she told the Health Select Committee it may be needed, although she hoped not.

This caused some controversy as the government's approach has been characterised by working with industry to get them to make food and drink products healthier.

Recognising obesity
75%

adults obese or overweight
33%

children obese or overweight
52% of overweight men think they are 'about the right weight'

30% of overweight women think they are 'about the right weight'

77% of parents of overweight children do not recognise it

Source: CMO report
In her report she says this should continue, but if it fails to deliver a tax should be "considered".

She children and adults of all ages are consuming too much sugar.

Nearly two thirds of adults and a third of children are overweight or obese - classed as a body mass index of above 25. This is about double the numbers in the early 1990s.

But research shows that half of men, a third of women and over three quarters of parents do not recognise weight problems.

Professor Kevin Fenton, of Public Health England, said he agreed with Dame Sally's comments.

"We share her concerns. Overweight and obesity costs the NHS over £5bn each year and is entirely preventable."

But Tam Fry, of the National Obesity Forum, said he would have liked Dame Sally to take a tougher approach to sugar.

"The report lets the food and beverage industries off the hook. It gives industry no deadline by which to show improvement with the likely result that her words will be quite ignored. How distressing."

Last.fm shutting down subscription radio service by April 28

Last.fm is ending its subscription radio service as it focuses on keeping track of what users listen to in other streaming platforms such as Spotify and YouTube.

"From 28th April, our subscription radio streaming service will come to an end. This means subscriber radio will no longer work on any platform or device. We're making this change to focus on improving scrobbling and recommendations, while continuing our goal of being your #onemusichome," the company announced in a statement on its website.

The service is still available for free in the United States, Germany, and the U.K. Meanwhile, access to the website's radio feature requires a subscription in Brazil, New Zealand, Canada, Australia, and Ireland.

The company will continue to offer a subscriptions package. To compensate for taking out radio, Last.fm is introducing a tag filtering function. "Filter your recommended station by 'rock' and discover the next Jim Morrison," the company said in its announcement. It is also giving subscribers a 30 percent discount for everything in its upcoming merchandise store.

Some features such as personal stations will remain. However, the music will be sourced through YouTube or Spotify instead of Last.fm's own servers, thereby absolving the company from paying music licensing fees.

Sport England cuts FA funding by £1.6m

Sport England, the body responsible for distributing public money to increase sports participation, says the reduction is a clear message that football needs to change its grassroots strategy.
The national game is one of six sports that have had funding reduced by Sport England.

FA general secretary Alex Horne called the reduction "disappointing" (external) and said a number of factors, including poor weather and increased costs were presenting difficulties to clubs and players.

"It's naturally disappointing to learn that Sport England is cutting its funding to football especially at a time when the challenges faced by the grassroots of our game are so acute," said Horne.

"It is especially disappointing as Sport England agreed and began funding our joint plan only in August last year, and today's decision is based on measurement undertaken just two months later in October. It will not however deter the FA's continued extensive financial commitment to the grassroots of the game, of which this is only one element.

"Grassroots football is played on facilities almost exclusively owned and maintained by local authorities.

"A combination of severe weather, increased pitch hire costs and reduced maintenance spend has made this a very difficult time for clubs seeking to complete their fixtures and for individual players to value and enjoy regular football.

"This challenge - to ensure a much better provision of quality affordable grassroots facilities - is one we are determined to address."

Golf is the second biggest loser, having £500,000 of its overall funding package withdrawn, but there are also reductions in England for netball, hockey, mountaineering and rowing.
But it is football that has been hit the worst after the latest figures, published last December, showed there had been a significant drop in the number of people playing the game for at least 30 minutes every week.

In total, there are 1.84 million people playing football regularly according to Sport England figures - a fall of 100,000 since April last year.

More than two million people were regularly playing the sport back in 2006, suggesting a long-term shift in people's behaviour and attitudes.
Sport England warned the FA last year that it could lose up to 20% of its £30m overall public funding package for the four-year period 2013-17 if it failed to halt the fall in numbers.

While the cut of £1.6m is small in comparison with the FA's overall turnover - which was more than £300m in 2012 - Sport England says it represents 10% of the remaining money specifically allocated to the FA for increasing participation. In total, the FA distributes £43m a year to grassroots projects.

Sport England's chief executive Jennie Price told the BBC: "I think this is a serious message to the FA. We've invested, over four years, £30m of public money in the FA so they have a real responsibility to spend it wisely and deliver results.

"Taking £1.6m away is a real sign they need to do something different and I think they will take it seriously."

As part of its review process, Sport England not only considered participation numbers but also each sport's plans to try to increase interest at grassroots level.

That is why other sports that have experienced a decline in participation - such as cricket, rugby union and badminton - have not had any funding removed this year.

The Lawn Tennis Association, subject to intense scrutiny over its failure to translate Andy Murray's Wimbledon win into greater numbers of people playing regularly, had a £500,000 cut in 2012 and is having £10m of its funding withheld by Sport England until the agency is convinced there are plans in place to stop the slide.

While a funding cut may not come as a huge surprise to the FA, it is nevertheless an embarrassing blow to a governing body which has identified growing the game's grassroots as one of its key roles.

But Sport England says the FA needs to follow the lead of other sports such as cricket, which have adapted the traditional form of the game to try to reach out to more people.

The news comes on the same day that the FA announced its involvement in an initiative with British Cycling called Kick Start Your Ride, (external) which is aimed at increasing the participation of women in both football and cycling.

Grassroots funding in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland is governed by three different agencies - Sport Scotland, Sport Wales and Sport Northern Ireland.

The Last of Us for PS4? One Sony manager says yes, but the company says ‘no comment’

The Last of Us may be coming to PlayStation 4 as a proper port, DLC and all, according to comments made by PlayStation's Eurasian Software Market Manager, Sercan Sulun. The interview with Sulun ran on CNN Türk, the cable news network's Turkish channel, with a translation of what he said provided to IGN:

"There is no information about a new The Last of Us game but I can share this knowledge; as of this summer, The Last of Us will be on the PS4. Both on PSN and physically," the translation reads. "The PS4 version will also include the DLC so you will be able to play 'Left Behind' as well."

It doesn't get much more explicit than that as far as confirmation goes. Sulun's words, according to the translation at least, don't leave much room for interpretation. The statement (or the translation) could be inaccurate, but Sulun seems to be under the impression that a boxed retail version of The Last of Us is coming to PS4, at least in his region of the world.

The situation gets even stranger when you look at Sony's official response to the news. Reached for comment by Eurogamer, a Sony Europe spokesperson replied, "At no time have we announced that The Last of Us is coming to PS4 and therefore, have nothing to say on the subject." There's no mention of Sulun's comments; simply a statement of fact that nothing's been "officially" revealed.

Sony demoed The Last of Us with its PlayStation Now game streaming service earlier this year, but a proper PS4 port isn't totally outside the realm of possibility. The game was an immediate hit with critics and an overall winner in multiple Game of the Year award categories, but it came out as a PlayStation 3 exclusive just weeks before the PS4 launched.

Rumor Has It! Rihanna To Become X Factor Judge?

Is RiRi the perfect music critic?

Rihanna to become X Factor UK judge?

Is Simon Cowell considering RiRi as X Factor judge?

Rihanna could become the chosen judge on the next season of UK's X Factor talent show. The singer is no doubt super famous and could be the best thing to ever happen to the show but will her fee not crumble the show too?

X Factor boss Simon Cowell has announced that he would be returning to the UK panel of the talent show along with singer Cheryl Cole, but will need another strong personality on board.

Despite the fact that judges are yet to be announced, Rihanna, 26, sparked speculation she could be the one when she took off to London yesterday, March 25.

Simon and Cheryl have two months to find someone to sit in that chair and they want to get the right person," according to UK's Daily Star."This year is an important one for The X Factor. Simon can't be complacent and has to come back with a real A Team."

RiRi would be definitely be a shock selection because she is not an obvious choice for a family show – but its likely that's what Simon wants.

Whatever Simon wants, he gets!

Unbelievable! Congregation Calls Their Pastor "The Devil"

How devilish can a pastor get for his worshipers to leave his church?

Pastor Mase in heavy criticism

Do you guys remember Mase the rapper? He used to rap alongside with Diddy in the popular hit More Money More Problems then he gave his life to Christ, left the rap world, got married and became a Man of God and a Marriage Counselor. Well, now his congregation is mad at him and they are calling him 'fake', a hypocrite and say he's running with the devil.

The pastor/rapper has been accused by his own worshipers of committing blasphemy by using the holiness of the church to advance his very 'unholy' rap schema.

The Christians believe Mase is living a double life, spending as much time in the studio with hardcore - sinful - rappers as in the church.  They also say his messages from the pulpit drip in hypocrisy, because what he raps about is exactly the opposite, according to TMZ.

According to the site, the major revelation that ticked the church off was that Mase secretly filed for divorce in January and clandestinely withdrew the legal docs a few weeks later. They further claim their Spiritual head has been going on and on about the virtues of marriage even after his hidden divorce surfaced while disregarding his own failures and they're tired of his lies.

The Mason Bethany Ministries has reportedly concluded they stop funding the church and may kick him out as pastor.

TMZ reports that Mase is featured on a new song - "Tricky Situation" - a song about a man who brags about banging a woman who's already engaged.

Now, how bad can this possibly get? Send in your thoughts.

Twitter now lets you add up to four images to tweets, introduces tagging

Twitter is continuing in its ongoing quest to place more emphasis on photos, on Wednesday rolling out an update that allows users to add up to four images to a single tweet instead of just the one.

Now, if you add more than one image to a tweet, a collage is automatically created. When a follower taps on the preview image in their timeline they can then view each of the individual photos by simply swiping through them.

"The ability to upload multiple photos is starting to roll out today on iPhone, and is coming soon to Android and twitter.com," César Puerta, a software engineer at the social media site, said in a post announcing the new feature. "Whether you're on iPhone, Android or twitter.com, you can view tweets with multiple photos."

Tagging

Users can also now tag up to 10 individuals in an image, with character count unaffected.

When you select an image to embed in a tweet, you'll see a "Who's in this photo?" button. Simply tap it and add either a full name or @username and then hit Done. Then all you need to do is tap out your message and fire it off.

Anyone tagged in an image will receive a notification. If you're unhappy about being tagged, simply visit your Settings page and select the option that prevents others from tagging you in an image. You can also untag yourself from any image at any time simply by tapping the three dots beneath the tweet and hitting "Remove tag from photo."

According to Puerta, the new features have been introduced to make the microblogging service "more social". They also make it a little more like Facebook and Instagram, which both allow users to tag photos. While Facebook has long enabled the practice, Instagram, which Facebook acquired in 2012, only introduced it in May last year.

Tagging could be particularly useful for Twitter users, however, as it now means they no longer have to use up any of their precious 140 characters with @mentions in a tweet, as anyone in an image will now be notified via a tag.
