The BBC's David Stern in Kiev says that while the ongoing protests have produced the largest demonstrations since the 2004 Orange Revolution, so far none of the protesters' main demands have been met.

'Footage of clashes'

Mr Lutsenko is the leader of the Third Ukrainian Republic opposition movement.

His party confirmed on Saturday that he had been placed in intensive care after suffering "closed-head injury,
concussion and hematomas".

Mr Lutsenko's wife Iryna said the former minister was attacked by baton-wielding police as he tried to break up the violence.

The clashes occurred outside a courthouse in Kiev, where a large crowd had gathered for the verdict in a trial against members of a far-right organisation.

Following the judgment, angry demonstrators blocked buses carrying police officers.

The situation escalated after protesters threw paint on the

Iraq is edging towards sectarian civil war, correspondents say.

A car bomb has killed at least nine people and wounded others at a bus station in central Baghdad.

The bomb went off on Sunday morning outside the station in the Allawi area, local police said.

Last Thursday, a suicide bomber blew himself up among army recruits in the same area, killing 23 people.

Political tensions and violence have escalated in Iraq. The UN says 2013 was the deadliest year for five years, with more than 8,800 people killed.

The violence comes days after the UN's envoy to Iraq warned of a "critical humanitarian situation" in Anbar province, as troops prepare to launch a major assault against al-Qaeda-linked militants in Falluja.

Correspondents say a government drive to restore control of the two predominantly Sunni cities of Falluja and Ramadi is being seen by many Sunnis as an attempt at domination and oppression, and is taking Iraq back to the brink of a sectarian civil war.

The auction was held amid tight security at a Dallas convention centre, where dozens of protesters had gathered.

The winning bidder - who has not been named - will hunt an old, non-breeding male rhino.

The organisers say such animals actually pose a threat to younger rhinos, which they sometimes charge and kill.

All proceeds will be donated to the Namibian government and will be earmarked for conservation efforts, safari club officials said.

Experts say growing demand for rhino horn in Asia is driving up instances of poaching Animal rights groups described the hunt's conservation

IBM commits $1bn to new Watson supercomputer division

In 2011 IBM's Watson supercomputer beat human rivals in the Jeopardy TV quiz show Computing giant IBM has said it will invest $1bn (£608m) creating a new division for Watson, its
Jeopardy-winning supercomputer.

Watson, named after former IBM president Thomas Watson, beat its human rivals in the US TV quiz show in 2011.

The investment includes a $100m fund to boost innovation around Watson-related developer apps.

The new division will be run by Michael Rhodin, former senior vice president of the company's software solutions group.

Watson aims to mimic how people think, using natural language capabilities and analytics, but can process vast amounts of information faster than the human brain.

IBM plans to farm out Watson's abilities to businesses and consumers via its cloud computing infrastructure,
Softlayer.

"Cognitive computing"

The company said the investment comes in response to a growing demand for cognitive computing - a more intuitive, human-centric form of artificial intelligence that understands the nuances and complexities of language and can learn from experience and new evidence.

"We have reached the inflection point where the interest is overwhelming and we recognised we need to move
faster," said Stephen Gold, vice president of Watson Business.

Jamie Popkin, of research firm Gartner, said: "I think [IBM has] developed something that takes us to the next step where information management needs to go."

It envisages a number of "powered by IBM Watson" assistive apps coming on to the market, such as Fluid's
expert personal shopper and Welltok's personalised health plans.

Healthcare professionals are likely to access Watson's huge database when using diagnostic equipment linked
wirelessly to smartphones and other mobile devices, experts believe.

But privacy campaigner Marc Rotenberg, of the Electronic Privacy Information Center, called the new feature "troubling", and compared it to a privacy flaw in a previous
Google product.

"There is a strong echo of the Google Buzz snafu," he said, referring to an early incarnation of the company's social network, which initially made a list of Gmail users' contacts available publicly online.

'Easier to connect' Gmail members will see a list of their Google+ connections when they begin to type a name in the 'To' field of their
messages, even if they do not know the email address of the person they are attempting to contact.

The update was announced on Google's Gmail blog on Thursday by product manager David Nachum, who said the change would make it "easier for people using Gmail and Google+ to connect over email".

Users will have the option of disabling the new feature and can choose to allow only those within their 'Circles' to contact them.

However, the default setting allows anyone on the network to get in touch without prior consent.

"Address hidden"

Mr Nachum said that all users would be alerted to the new feature and how to change the default setting, within the next few days.

Messages from Google+ connections will go directly to Gmail users' inboxes.

He also explained that email addresses will not be visible
to a Google+ connection until a user replies to that person's initial message.

Google's update to Gmail messaging is the latest in a series of moves designed to bring its email service and social network Google+ closer together.

Users signing up to Gmail are now automatically given a Google+ account, unless they choose to disable it.

Job description: – Service Integration Leader is responsible for managing and coordinating Advanced Pools for the account and client. The position reports into the competency, but is responsible to the account management team. – The SIL is responsible for acting as the primary contact between the DPE and the delivery support organization.
