TOP NEWS: R. Kelly’s Daughter to Become Transgender Male

0612DreaJay

Finding out the sex of your baby is one of the most enamoring times of any pregnancy. Whether you’re one of those anxious parents who tries around 14 weeks to get a peek, or you wait until the moment he or she arrives into the world, knowing whether you’re raising a little princess or mini superhero is one of the proudest moments of many parents’ lives. Based upon the sex of your child you begin to subconsciously create a life for them.

For your baby girl it could be dreams of her becoming a famed ballerina, a la Misty Copeland. And for your baby boy it could be hoop dreams—maybe much like the ones Lebron James’ mother fantasized for her son. But as singer R. Kelly and his ex-wife Andrea Kelly are currently learning, now more than ever, parents are having to deal with the complicated task of raising homosexual and transgender children. And complicated is relative.

For some parents “complicated” means the struggle of accepting your little girl doesn’t feel true to herself in big bows, pink dresses and leopard print headbands. For others it’s trusting that their little boy can stick up for himself when bullies tease him for being too girly.

As Jaya Kelly, R. Kelly and Andrea’s son who now simply goes by Jay explains, he knew very early on that he did not identify with the female body and mold he was expected to fit. In a question and answer session on website Ask.fm, he knew he didn’t want to wear dresses, grow his hair long or have breasts or female sexual organs. And now, he has decided to have a life-changing operation, which will officially make him the boy he has always wanted to be. “I believe I am a boy and want surgery and the medication to help me [be] who I was supposed to be.”

Jay explains that while he hasn’t heard from his baby-making-music-singer father since he made the announcement, his Hollywood Exes star mother has been there by his side supporting him every step of the way, “My mom was like, ‘Baby, you know I love you if you were bi, gay, lesbian, you name it and I would still love you so much.’” And while there’s an initial shock once your child confirms that he or she is anything too much outside of the lines, parents must understand that “the lines” are what we make them; bounds are set to be pushed and limits are made to be broken. And as we instill in our children enough fearlessness to conquer the world and challenge life as we know it, we can’t limit that drive to one particular facet of their lives.

We have to give our children the freedom to unashamedly be 100 percent their authentic selves. If we, the person who birthed them, raised them, taught them and told them we are their number one fan, limit our support of their endeavors, decisions and ambitions only to things we agree with, we are limiting their potential and diminishing their value to the world.

Imagine a world where President Barack Obama’s mother disapproved of him attending law school and going into politics for fear that it might be too much pressure for her son. Or a world where Tina Knowles thought her daughters dreams of singing and dancing in front of thousands of spectating fans was a little too ambitious—get a medical degree just to have a Plan B, Beyoncé. As parents, we must trust our children and be there to guide, advise and support them. That’s what they need us for. We weren’t entrusted with their lives to mold their spirit, we were, instead, given the gifts who are our children to be the first example of unconditional love and unwavering support. Teach them, guide them, love them, but most of all trust them. You’d be surprised how much you can learn from them.

SPORT NEWS: Suarez's lawyer blames England & Italy for Suarez bite hysteria

Suarez's lawyer blames England & Italy for Suarez bite hysteria

Alejandro Balbi, who represents the Liverpool striker, has bemoaned outside interference from the media in European countries
Luis Suarez's lawyer has blamed England and Italy for the hype surrounding the Uruguayan striker's latest controversy.

The Liverpool forward has been accused of biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini on the shoulder in his side's 1-0 victory in their final Group D match - the third time the striker has been involved in such an incident in his career.

However Suarez's lawyer, Alejandro Balbi, has confirmed that they are working on a defence and has insisted the confrontation has been blown out of proportion as a result of the Liverpool man's history.

"We don't have any doubts that this has happened because it's Suarez and secondly because Italy was eliminated," Balbi, who is also a Uruguay FA board member, told local Uruguayan radio.

"There's a lot of pressure from England and Italy. We’re polishing off a defence argument.

"There is a possibility that they ban him, because there are precedents, but we're convinced that it was an absolutely casual play, because if Chiellini can show a scratch on one shoulder, Suarez can show a bruised and almost shut eye.

"If every player starts showing the injuries he suffers and they open inquiries for them everything will be way too complicated in the future. We’re going to use all the arguments possible so that Luis gets out in the best possible way.”

WORLDCUP UPDATE: Luis Suarez Out Of World Cup For Biting Italian Defender?

Luis Suarez Out Of World Cup For Biting Italian Defender?

i hate when i get italian food stuck in my teeth

Luis Suarez could be going home, even if his team, Uruguay, keeps playing in the round of 16. FIFA announced they are launching a probe to investigate the biting of Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini, which was caught on camera, even if it happened behind the referee’s back.
If Suarez is indeed out of the World Cup, it could represent a big blow for the South Americans as he is one of the top players on Los Charrúas. The talented 27-year-old forward was the hero in the 2-0 victory over England, which saved Uruguay from certain elimination.
But now, all that is clouded after the Liverpool FC star repeated his strange habit, which has obscured his many accomplishments. When faced with frustration, Luis Suarez resorted to biting Chiellini in the 80th minute as his team fought the tough Italians to earn a spot in the round of 16.

Twitter Meme of the bite heard round the world and the victim showing his wound.
Suarez was clearly frustrated with Chiellini — one of the world’s best defenders — as Uruguay needed a win to move on. Following the bite, Uruguay’s Diego Godin scored the one and only goal of the match to defeat Italy.
This is not the first time Luis Suarez found himself in the midst of controversy surrounding his personal behavior on the football field. The Uruguayan player has been accused of being a racist and biting opponents, not once, but twice before.
View image on TwitterEven though the referee was not in position to see Suarez biting Chiellini, the Italian vehemently protested the attack, pulling his shirt away and showing the red mark left by his rival’s teeth. Luckily for FIFA, a television camera captured the action for millions to watch.
Early on Wednesday, FIFA announced the start of an investigation and gave Uruguay until Thursday afternoon to present their case. Suarez did not make any excuses for his behavior or the possibility that he may be kicked out:

“These are things that happen on the pitch, we were both in the area, he thrust his shoulder into me. These things happen on the pitch, and we don’t have to give them so much (importance).”
Suarez had the season of his career and is being compared to the likes of Messi and Ronaldo. He was crowned Premier League Player of the Year and also was the top scorer.

All the controversy surrounding Luis Suarez actions didn’t prevent Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez and his teammates from coming to his defense.
During the presser following the match, Tabarez said:
“I want to say that if he’s attacked, as it has begun in this press conference, we’ll also defend him, because this is a football World Cup, not of cheap morality.”

We will see whether FIFA kicks Luis Suarez out of the World Cup or not, but in the meantime, social media is having a lot of fun at his expense. With memes comparing him to Dracula or Hannibal Lecter, there is something for everyone. Check it out:
