Job Title: Pastry Chef

As the Pastry Chef you will supervise day-to-day activities of the Pastry Kitchen, communicate objectives, and assign/schedule work and develop, test and cost our new recipes and menu items for the Pastry Shop/Bakery. You will oversee and participate in the preparation of, and check and approve, all food items prepared in the pastry shop and bakery and regularly inspect the quality and quantity of pastry, croissants, breads and other bakery goods for the buffets and for all outside orders.

Key responsibilities of the role include:
The Pastry Chef checks daily function sheets and prepare items accordingly while controlling pasty items before they are received by the stores, making sure that they are within that accepted minimum/maximum par stock. He/She will ensure the proper handling, cleanliness and maintenance of the working area and may serve as Manager on Duty or assist with other duties as assigned which includes but is not limited to producing centerpieces for banquets and buffets, setting and presentation of lunch and dinner trolleys etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Culinary art degree or its equivalent
• Good understanding of the Hotel Industry standards, policies and procedures
• Extensive international experience in branded hotels
• Experience in high-end city operation with multi unit F&B; and large Conference & Event
• Creative and open minded
• Good business mind and commercial flair
• Good understanding of the local business and operation environments and markets
• Service minded and ability to involve and support operations
• Business savvy and good people skills

This challenging position has overall responsibility for supervising and inspecting the work or assigned room and/or public area attendants to ensure product quality standards are met and that optimum service is provided to hotel guests. In this role you will assist with scheduling and room assignments to ensure proper coverage while you ensure all staff are properly trained and have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their respective job duties. The supervisor inspects storage rooms and room attendant carts for neatness, cleanliness, adequate supplies, and good repair and controls expenses and minimize waste within all areas of housekeeping. You will complete paperwork and closing duties such as filling out supply requisitions, maintenance request forms, and updating log books etc. and may perform all housekeeping duties necessary including making beds and vacuuming and cleaning guest rooms to ensure guest satisfaction. You may regularly assist with deep cleaning projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Diploma or equivalent is required
• 3 years supervisory housekeeping experience in a hotel of a similar size and complexity.
• Service minded and ability to involve and support operations
• Business savvy and good people skills
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Ability to perform the following: carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds and pushing and/or pulling approximately 100 k, frequently standing up and moving about the facility, frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility, and frequently bending, stooping and kneeling

As the Financial Accountant, you will report directly to the Deputy Director of Finance & Business Support. Responsibilities include assisting in the management of day-to-day operations and assignments of Accounting staff, plan and organize work, communicate goals, and schedule/assign work and managing revenues received and dispersed including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, audit, General Ledger reporting, and cash handling functions for the hotel. You will prepare financial analysis of hotel operations including variance explanation and make recommendations to ensure the achievement of business goals and assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts and reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• A degree in Accounting/Business/Finance and 3+ years in hotel accounting or audit with experience in a Managerial role
ACA , ACCA qualification preferred.

Accounts Receivable Job at InterContinental Hotel Group

Job Title: Accounts Receivable

As the Accounts Receivable, you will promote a professional and positive image to all of our guests and contribute to the hotels targets by carrying out a variety of accounting duties to ensure correct reporting of revenues and costs, timely and accurate processing of invoices and statements, and/or timely receipt of monies owed to the hotel.

Key responsibilities of the role include:
• Summarize and post data to journals, ledgers and other accounting records; balance accounts and reconcile all accounts.
• Obtain approvals on invoices to be paid; make proper accounting entries in ledger; reconcile discrepancies with vendors; prepare transmittal of invoices for payment.
• Prepare and monitor monthly aging of accounts; prepare statements and collection letters for delinquent accounts; make phone calls to collect accounts excessively overdue.
• Approve and process direct billing requests; prepare all bills and mail invoice statements.
• Ensure credit card POQ’‘s are in working condition and process credit card rebates monthly
