"Yaya Toure is relentless and a machine. He did not have one of his better games but what he did, he did very well.
"His fourth goal is like watching a 15-year-old against under-12s. You just can't catch him. He is only the second midfielder to score 20 goals or more after Frank Lampard in the Premier League."

"I could understand the nerves. What was key was nine of the 11 won the title two years ago. They did not panic. They knew what they were doing.
"The crowd were getting edgy but the players didn't. With the full-backs either side it was just a matter of time. Pablo Zabaleta is an absolute machine and he picks passes out."

"When you play against teams like Aston Villa, you tend to move the ball slowly but Manchester City stuck with what they knew and got down the sides and created lots of chances."

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini: "The way we play, I am very happy to win the title that way. There are different ways to win the title, I choose this one - this one is attractive football and our fans enjoy the season. You can win titles in another way but for me the aesthetic part of the game is very important."

Abu Ali: As an Arsenal fan, it has to be beating Spurs 1-0, seeing them sell Bale, then signing Ozil the next day!

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini: "Of course I expect to win the title now because we are top of the table. Winning the next game means we can win the title.
"It's been a strange season because we were never at the top of the table, everybody was talking about us being the favourites but we were nine points behind Liverpool and eight behind Chelsea - we had three games in hand but we had to win all of those games."

Sunderland manager Gus Poyet: "I don't know if you will see something similar ever again. We are the second team in the Premier League to be bottom at Christmas and stay up. With City, Chelsea and United away from home, to be seven points away from safety and to do it with a game to spare is amazing.
"It's been an incredibly difficult season. For moments it looked like we were going down. I will start believing in miracles from now on and it's one of the best days of my life today."

Christopher Jones: Sunderland are the new Wigan! Rubbish until April and then excellent in the last two months of the season.
Iain Clark: Next time I watch the Great Escape it better be Poyet and not Steve McQueen coming out the cooler. Well done Sunderland.

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert: "I thought we did fantastic. I am really proud of the team and the nerves were starting to set in. I didn't think it was easy for them, I couldn't be prouder of my own team.
"They are in the driving seat but you never know on the last day of the season."

Manchester City now have three players with 15+ goals this season (Edin Dzeko 16, Sergio Aguero 17 and Yaya Toure 19). They are the first team ever in the Premier League to have three players with at least 15 goals in a single season.
Yaya Toure scored his 20th goal of the season - the fourth most ever for a midfielder in a single PL season, behind Gareth Bale (21 in 2012/13), Frank Lampard (22 in 2009/10) and Cristiano Ronaldo (25 in 2007/08). He goes clear of Matt Le Tissier, who got 19 in 1994/95).

Don in Norwich, via text: Us Canaries wanted a change of manager at Christmas because we could all see us going down playing ugly, careless, passionless football. Imagine if we got Pulis in January!
Daniel, via text: As a Norwich fan living in Derby I have been resigned to the fact we were down since Hughton got sacked. Credit to Adams as he has actually got us playing with passion again, as seen in the games against Fulham, Liverpool and Chelsea. One last decent performance against Arsenal and we will return. LET'S BE HAVIN' YOU.
