Manchester musical legends Noel Gallagher, wearing skipper Vincent Kompany's armband, and Johnny Marr celebrate City's title success on the Etihad pitch

"An old-fashioned pitch invasion greeted Manchester City's second title of the modern era, not a blade of grass unoccupied by a cavorting, beaming blue," writes Martin Samuel in the Daily Mail.

"The surface cleared, the team reappeared to take a bow and collect their medals, with support staff impressively ushered to the fore. Fernandinho, wrapped in a Brazilian flag, jigged to This Charming Man by The Smiths.

"Noel Gallagher, 46, a City supporter from Longsight, Greater Manchester, summed it up. 'For City fans of a certain age, we'll never get used to this,' he said. 'The kids, they'll get used to it. But not us.'"
