Veteran Hollywood actor Mel Gibson will be totally free from his battery conviction as a judge plans to erase his ex wife - "Oksana Grigorieva mouth-punching" incident from his record.

Gibson's lawyer has filed legal documents asking the judge to wipe out his no contest plea from his record.  If you are lost, here is the gist:

Gibson was charged with battery for hitting his ex wife, Grigorieva in the mouth, knocking out several facade in 2011.  He actually confessed to striking her in a sworn declaration in his custody case, admitting,

"I slapped Oksana one time with an open hand in an attempt to bring her back to reality."

Reports prove that Mel has completed ALL of the requirements the judge laid down after he copped a plea back in March, 2011.  Those requirements included 16 hours of community service and 52 weeks of counselling.  He was also required to maintain "peaceful contact" with Grigorieva. Gibson was also placed on 3 years probation, which ended in March 2014.

He is due back in court later this month.  The judge is expected to allow Mel to withdraw his plea and the case will be dismissed and his criminal record will be erased.
