New Jersey woman found stabbed to death, sons missing

NEWARK, New Jersey (Reuters) - New Jersey police were searching on Friday for two young boys whom authorities said were abducted by their father and whose mother was found stabbed to death in an apartment complex in Lodi.

State police said John Jordan, 47, abducted the boys Nicholas Jordan, 8, and Anthony Jordan, 7, from the Wilson Elementary School in Lodi, in northern New Jersey. The brothers were last seen wearing their school uniforms, which included maroon collared shirts and khaki pants.

Jordan, who police said was going through a divorce with his wife, was believed to be driving a 2007, black Honda Civic with four doors and a VHH37S license plate registered in New Jersey, according to officials.

Police, who have issued an Amber Alert for the missing children, did not release any details about the victim.

Photos of the boys and the father have not been released.
