Hulk Hogan: WWE warm welcome back before Wrestlemania

Hulk Hogan has returned to WWE after a six-year absence to launch the sports entertainment company's new channel.

The 60-year-old appeared at Raw on the USA network before featuring on WWE Raw Backstage Pass, live on WWE Network.

Posting on Twitter after the event, Hogan wrote: "Great night for me and all my Hulkamaniacs, with such a warm welcome from the talent in the back to the ROAR of the WWE UNIVERSE."

His return to WWE was revealed last week ahead of the 30th WrestleMania.

He will host the event on 6 April in New Orleans.

After the news of his return was announced on Friday, Hogan tweeted a message to his fans.

"Well I guess it's that time again, I hope they are ready, this is gonna be the best run ever, it's great to finally be home, WWE4LIFE," he wrote.

"I am so grateful for the outpouring of love from everyone, thank you and it has to be the greatest day of my life to know I'm coming home to WWE where it all started, I am so grateful," he added.

The wrestler was known for the red and yellow costumes he wore in the ring
Hogan last appeared on WWE's Raw in December 2007.

During the 1980s he was one of the most high profile figures in wrestling and was the main attraction for the first WrestleMania in 1985.

Although he is not currently due to participate directly in the upcoming WrestleMania, Hogan has not ruled out a return to the ring.

"Right now, it's not in the plans," he said on Friday. "But like they say in the WWE, never say never."

He will instead be focused on representing the company and taking part in WWE programming.

Hogan has had cameo appearances in programmes including American Dad.

Hulkamania was born in 1984 when he defeated The Iron Sheik to become WWE champion at Madison Square Garden.

He won six WWE championships and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 by Sylvester Stallone.

Until last year he was working with TNA Wrestling and also wrestled for World Championship Wrestling.

Hogan has starred in a number of films and has had voiceover roles in Robot Chicken and American Dad. He also featured in a reality show with his family called Hogan Knows Best.

Last month the entertainment channel was criticised by retired professional Mick Foley after Daniel Bryan was excluded from the Royal Rumble, one of the highlights of the WWE calendar.

Foley tweeted: "Does @WWE actually hate their own audience? I've never been so disgusted with a PPV."
