Michelle Yeoh talks about latest foodie film

Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh is famous for her role in the 2000 action flick "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon". The star can currently be seen in a drama about a TV producer
searching for an elusive recipe.
Michelle Yeoh is a big fan of food, which came in handy because she was immersed in it in her latest film "Final Recipe".

The actress advises audiences to make sure they eat before going to see it.

"I swear it should have a warning label that says eat before you watch the film because you are going to be
sitting there going 'I am so hungry'," she said.

Yeoh said that when they were shooting, she found ways of getting around eating the food every single take, just so that she didn't have to go on a massive diet afterwards.

"You have to be very creative. It's like 'are you sure I have to put this in my mouth this time again?' and find ways of demonstrating that you are tasting the food," she said.

Final Recipe follows the story of Mark, a young man whose dream is to follow in his grandfather's footsteps to become a great chef and run the family restaurant.

A scene from "Final Recipe", starring Michelle Yeoh.

His difficult grandfather Hao has run the restaurant into the ground and it's on the verge of bankruptcy.

When Hao collapses, Mark enters a cooking contest in Shanghai without his knowledge in an attempt to save the failing business.

Mark is up against some top chefs from Japan, Korea and Australia, but he isn't intimidated by their experience.

He confidently shows off his amazing cooking skills. As Mark wins round after round, he gains the attention of Julia, the contest producer, played by Yeoh. She starts to notice a strong resemblance between him and her husband David.

Despite loving eating, Yeoh doesn't indulge in that much
cooking herself.

"I have friends that are great cooks and Jean is a good cook, so we have friends who are really, really great chefs, like Daniel Boulud, Guy Savoy, Robuchon, so we don't cook. When you have friends like that who needs to cook?" Yeoh said.

The actress will reprise her famous role in the second instalment of "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon", which will be released in China later this year.
